Morning:
- Publish stories which you started last week - finish editing videos or slide shows and then post the story - old news is not good news! (Check with Mrs. Poulin, she may have done a few over the weekend in order to move us forward this week.)
- Complete new stories on a few Winterims which sent us information over the weekend (Yellowstone, Educador, Biking, others). If you have both old and new stories to publish we will split up the work so by the end of the morning all old and new stories are done.
Afternoon (or if you when you finish morning tasks):
- Content Check: Go through the LA Winterim blog to check all stories posted about your assignmed Winterims; Ms. Ruby will track which ones have been blogged about on the Winterim Project List; you will check for errors and make sure the tags are accurate for each post
- GMap: Finish the GMap posts for each of your Winterims - if yours are done, help finish the other entries of those students who can not get to this task
- Metrics: Check Google Analytics and set a goal for the end of the week
- Promote: Each student promotes one story or the blog itself via Facebook, Twitter, personal e-mail, LA Student news or etc.
- Blog Design: Check LATechie's bookmarks on Delicious for sites which will provide us widgets on the blog.

Today was chill and I had no problems. I guess im finally getting used to sitting in the same spot for hours at a time. But I feel that we might actually make a bigger impact than we planned from the beginning.
ReplyDeleteToday was a rather relaxed day, and it was really cool seeing the effects of our blog as well as seeing the number of hits and views going up exponentially.
ReplyDeleteToday was a working day. My eyeballs are going to fall out and my wrists are going to fall off. I got a lot of posts done this morning, and the morning went rather quickly. This afternoon I've been focusing on promoting, and I have contacted a number of people to get the word out! It's surprising- people have actually been talking about our blog- very cool!
ReplyDeleteRelatively calm, this day was a decent reintroduction to the blogging course. Not too hard to stay up to date today, having added a few widgets to the main page, along with publishing and "promoting" a few posts.

ReplyDeleteOverall, today was a fairly productive day. I took all of the interviews from HeadStart that we took on Friday, imported them into iMovie, and made a movie of the first two. Then, I imported it into YouTube and then posted it on the blog as the first two interviews. Kerrin and I were in charge of checking Google Analytics and setting a goal for the end of the week, so we went over to the Alumni Development House and asked how we can further promote our blog to get more hits, and we are going to do this by informing more parents about it via email, etc. Everyone promoted their posts that they put up on the blog today by posting a message on student news and on another site of their choice such as Facebook, Twitter, etc.
