An interesting view on the dependency that we as human beings hold on the internet and technology. Sort of upsetting to know that we are unable to function without it.
Essentially "social media" is revolution like that of the industrial revolution - things will/are changing - if organizations (like schools and businesses) don't change perhaps they will become obsolete. Check out the post above about newspapers that are failing and how several of them went completely online, which still has not been a guarantee of success.
The video is showing how dependent we really are on computers and technology, whether or not we admit to it. Old technological advances that were supernatural at the time have quickly become inadequate for our hunger towards new innovations to make our lives easier.
We need to re-think ourselves when we think we have complete control over the internet but its a larger place than one person could see in their life time.
This blog serves as our Winterim agenda and reflective class journal about our experiences during Winterim. Mrs. Poulin is the administrator of the blog and students in her Winterim project will authors of the blog. They will also post comments to this blog serving as our reflective journal. Other viewers or subscribers to this blog will be able to read the blog, but provide no comments. This is a blog to record our group's process in creating a school-wide blog about all of the Lawrence Academy Winterim projects. In order to create that blog we will learn about online tools, photography, videography, news reporting, writing and editing.

ReplyDeleteWe're not just individual people anymore - "me" is intricately intertwined with "you" and "them"...
